Music

35 Years. Countless Stages.

I’ve been playing music since I was 10 years old.
It’s not just something I do, it’s who I am.

From raw rockabilly to crushing metal

Still chasing that next sound

Dave Rumbler Music

Over the decades, I’ve toured the world, played everything from sweaty bar rooms to massive festival stages, and lived through just about every story the road can throw at you.

My main weapon is the double bass, but I also play guitar, sing, and write. I’ve been in and out of vans, on and off planes, and in front of crowds for most of my life. I’ve played rockabilly, metal, swing, blues, punk, and everything in between because I love music in all its forms and I don’t believe in staying in one box.

I’ve had the highs: huge shows, screaming crowds, great friends made in every corner of the globe.
And the lows: sleeping on the side of the road, breakdowns in the middle of nowhere, even getting arrested in Sweden (that’s a story for another time).

But through it all, I’ve kept playing. Kept creating. Kept chasing the feeling that only live music can bring.

The Story

Three men. One Road.

A collection of songs built from heat, humor, love and violence.
Some are Dark
Some are bright.
None of them end clean.

These are storeies about life and death and everything caught in between

THE KINGPIN

He runs the story.
Sets the rules.
Breaks them when it suits him.

The Kingpin is where it all begins – songs pulled from dust, blood and long roads that don’t lead home.

Love that burns hot.
Endings that come hard.
Every word delivered straight, no apology.

THE OLD MAN AXE

He’s walked every road worth walking.

Played every note worth playing.

The Old Man Axe doesn’t rush, he waits. Then cuts deep.

Decades of sound live in his hands – sharp when it counts, savage when it’s needed.

When the song needs teeth, he delivers without a word.

THE DECK WRECKER

No flair
No filler

The Deck Wrecker hits hard and hits right.

Every beat lands where it hurts, every groove built to drive the story forward or tear it.

If something brakes, that was always the plan.

Timing is everything, and he never misses.

Bands I’ve played in or with include-

  • Wes Pudsey and the Sonic Aces
  • 8 Ball Baby
  • Slim Jim Phantom Band
  • Stan Perkins (son of Carl Perkins)
  • Monster A Go Go
  • The Buddy Holly Show
  • Whistle Dixie (past project mixing outlaw country and dark folk)

Current bands-

  • The Casino Rumblers – Psychobilly with horns, energy and grit; long-running and still active
  • Sailors Grave – Irish/Celtic punk with heart and fire
  • Klub Kongo and The Piranha Tamers – raw garage rock’n’roll
  • A hidden metal band I can’t name (but you might already know)

I’ve also filled in for dozens of other bands on double bass across genres and scenes. No matter the lineup or the stage, I bring the same energy and respect to the music every time.

These days, I’m still writing, gigging, recording, and pushing into new sonic territory. Because music hasn’t let go, and I’m not letting go either.
