Interviews – Metal-Roos
Conversations from the Heart of Heavy Music.
I’m part of Metal Roos, one of Australia’s loudest underground music platforms, where I’ve interviewed some of the biggest names in metal and punk — from legends to rising firestarters.
If you’re into the raw edge of music, this is where it gets real.
I’ve had the chance to sit down with:
- Kerry King (Slayer)
- Mayhem
- Five Finger Death Punch
- Obituary
- And many, many more — covering everything from album cycles to life on
the road, gear setups, survival in the industry, and the wild stories that never make the press release.
We don’t do cookie-cutter interviews. These are real conversations with real musicians — the kind you only get from someone who’s been on tour, lived the life, and knows what it means to hustle for the next gig.
We’ve also taken it to the next level, with full interview tents at Good Things Festival and Knotfest, catching artists in the moment, between sets and chaos — and getting the gold while it’s still buzzing in their heads.
Whether it’s black metal or hardcore punk, I’m there to dig into what drives the sound — not just what’s trending.
You can catch these interviews on the Metal Roos YouTube channel — and if you’re a band, label, or PR rep looking to connect, hit me up.
I ask the questions I’d want to be asked. No fluff. Just music.
While landscape photography is where my heart is, I also shoot:
-
-
- Weddings — natural, story-driven, with a relaxed approach
- Portraits — character over perfection, real moments over poses
- Commercial work — product, branding, and lifestyle imagery
-
I was proud to be featured in the 2017 Canon Yearbook, but these days I shoot on Sony gear. I don’t care much about brand loyalty — I care about results, and I care about telling the truth through an image.
Whether I’m deep in the bush or working with people in town, I shoot the way I live — honestly, instinctively, and always with heart.
